Lawyer Bites For Gambling. 2005-11-21
As it seems, a second lawyer on the staff of the state gambling regulatory board is in trouble with the law. The lawyer, LeMonte Williams has had a run-in with police, due to a bar fight. He allegedly bit a bartender on the arm during a fight with another customer, officials said.
Williams was later cited by police for assault and public intoxication. All this took place late Thursday night at a downtown bar and restaurant. Williams, 34 is Pennsylvania Gaming Control Boards Deputy Chief Counsel for administration. He was recently hired in March of this year.
He is not the only lawyer that has been arrested for fighting. Michael Schwoyer was also arrested in a similar situation. He pleaded no contest, just last week, fir disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness. He was later fined $500, and is still employed with the same firm.
Williams allegedly scuffled with the customer over in an argument about gambling laws. When a bartender went to separate the two, the lawyer bit him on the bicep, breaking skin. Many inside the bar paid witness to this event.
The officer on duty claims that there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from Williams, and he was continually repeating himself. Williams as been cited and most likely be taken to court. There is no word on what will happen, when the court date will be set for, or what he will plea. Williams had no comment on the issue.
