Supporters Gather to Back Casino Plans

An argument is brewing in Clark County, Kentucky over whether a casino riverboat should be allowed.
John Perkins the Councilman who is leading the effort told the meeting last night that 500 signatures had already been gathered, half of the required total. In the meeting, he debated that by installing a riverboat casino, millions of dollars will be generated for the community. By contrast he also recognized the fact that the proposal had little chance of amounting to anything as voters had twice in the past rejected riverboat casino proposals.
It appears that the community is divided between those wanting the casino and those opposing it. The churches have said they will unite in their battle against gambling.
Opponents to the casino suggest that this is not what a community is built on, while others argue that casino revenue will generate millions of dollars of tax relief.
