Gambling Found At The Water Department. 2005-10-10
In Chicago, dozens of employees from the Department of Water Management were questioned. They were questioned by the inspector general about a co-worker. The allegations are that that worker took bribes for overtime, and allowed for gambling on that time.
Water Management Spokesman Gary Litherland, claimed about 10-15 were taken in for questioning. Law Department Spokeswoman Jennifer Hoyle suggested that the questioning came from complaints about this. Neither Hoyle nor Litherland identified the employees.
At this time they wouldnt come forward publicly. They did this to keep things quiet, and not ruin reputations, not already damaged. It is important to have integrity when doing questioning. At the moment that is all the inspector general had to say about the incident.
