Latest statistic in Macau show that income from direct gaming tax has increased by 23.4%. The percentage is a showing for the first seven months of this year so far. This is a major increase compared to the same period last year.
Finance Service Bureau statistics have show the final amount for this period of time was 9.5 billion patacas,. This amount is equivalent to $1.9 billion. Not to bad for this new year so far.
Casinos in Macau pay around 35% of their gross revenues as a direct tax to the government. Macau is the only region in China with legalized casinos. Observer expect that more than 20 casinos will be constructed within the next two years.
