Construction Happens in Atlantic City. 2005-08-24
Two original designers of the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa have just gotten a new task. The new task is to construct the two part development of the extensive compound in Atlantic City�s Marina District. The expansion was announced last fall will cost $547 million. The property is owned both by Boyd Gaming and MGM Mirage of Las Vegas, managed by Boyd.
Yates Construction will head the construction efforts. The construction team is based in Philadelphia, with offices in Newark and Atlantic City. Work on the first phase is starting immediately.
This will include a low-rise wing attached to the property's existing low-rise section. At a cost of $200 million, it will include a casino space, two nightclubs, retail space and several restaurants. Some of the restaurants include; the Wolfgang Puck Caf�, Bobby Flay Steak and Michael Mina Seablue, according to officials. This phase will be ready by mid-2006.
