Tribe Hires Company Construction for Casino. 2005-08-10
The Chippewa-Cree Indian Tribe says it has a strong agreement to start construction. The partnership is with a Florida company, and they are ready to build a big complex. The complex is to be constructed of a casino, hotel and truck stop area.
The agreement says that NORAM Inc. to bankroll the complex. The projected cost for this project is around $18 million to $20 million. This will create 60 to 75 jobs on the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation, Southwest of Havre.
The project is going to bring in money to families said John Chance Houle. Houle is the chairman of the Chippewa-Cree Business Committee in charge. The economic change will be good for future economy.
Representatives of the tribe and NORAM, a gambling development company in Maitland, Fla., signed the agreement Friday. It was signed at the rodeo grounds as the Rocky Boy Powwow started doing its work. Tribal officials announced last month that a casino was planned from the start.
