It seems that this isnít keeping pace with student demand for the scholarships, in the wake of rising tuition costs. At least this was what was told to lawmakers on Thursday, by members of the state lottery.
The latest projections could disrupt offers by Gov. Bill Richardson and other lawmakers. These politicians have advocated expanding student eligibility for the scholarships, which would allow more New Mexicans to attend college.
