Casino Helps People Flee From Fire.

Last Monday, a grass fire nearly destroyed hundreds of homes in rural area of Madera County, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said. The fire was small, 200 meters, around one-third square mile. 30 % was contained, but the wind wasn�t making that easy.
There were 200 to 300 homes it the wildfire's way. The residents were asked evacuate the area, until everything could be contained. Some went to the homes of friends and relatives, while others seemed to head to Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino. They were prepared to hold evacuees in their theater, and give them food.
The fire did not threaten the casino, because the wind was in the opposite direction, fire officials said. The officials estimated that the fire began around noon on Monday, but details are not known. An investigation is underway to see what caused the fire.
