EBay Auction of Poker Memorabilia. 2005-07-05
The World Poker Tour (WPT) will present player autographed cards and chips from the Season III on eBay on the Travel Channel. The auction will be posted from June 30 to July 7. Autographed cards and chips from the final table will be presented with photographs of the players, registered by Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA). All proceeds will go to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
The eBay collection will be framed sets. Framed set from Season III will be WPT World Championship Final Hand Cards. Both players from the final table will autograph their particular cards. The cards will come along with the final two finishing players. Table felt will also be on auction signed by the final two competitors. Another set on auction will be autographed chips from the final rounds. Additional signed photographs from other top players will be on eBay as well. More than 452 players turned out for the nearly $11 million WPT world championship. The championship which took place at the Bellagio awarded a WPT first prize of $2.8 million. Some top names from the tournament will sign their cards, and those will be up for auction are part of the eBay collection. Those players are:
*Daniel Negreanu- World Poker Tour Season III Player-of-the-Year, a winner of two major WPT events, the Borgata Poker Open and Bellagio's Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Negreanu�s wins equal up to more than $2.9 million. His signed Ace card is featured at the auction, four are left.
*Mike Sexton- is writer of a book called, �WPT: Shuffle Up & Deal� on New York Times best-seller list. The book gives fans a look at the WPT and tips. His King card, two available, will be on eBay, as well as two for Vince Van Patton-WPT commentator.
* Shana Hiatt- host of the WPT, will have a queen card signed, four are listed on the auction list.
*Antonio Esfandiari- winner of $1.4 million at the WPT's Season II LA Poker Classic. will have two joker cards signed available.
The World Poker Tour is sending things off to the auction for its fans, putting poker at the front ground of sports. The memorabilia will help a good cause at the same time, helping the pediatric aids foundation. All proceeds from the auctions will go to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
