A new Casino opens in Tucson, Arizona

When the second of two casinos owned by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Casino Del Sol, opened its 213,000-square foot gaming complex expansion ,the face of gaming and entertainment in Arizona will change dramatically... This occasion is about to occur at the 4th of July this year, making it the largest and most unique casino and entertainment destination in the whole state. New amenities will include 26 additional blackjack tables, a new bingo hall seating more than 600 players, four new distinctly themed restaurants, and a spectacular bar and lounge area, all of which will provide at least 400 new jobs to the Southern Arizona community. "Casino Del Sol exemplifies the best in gaming design to offer customers an overall entertainment experience; consequently, we are well located to expand our presence in Arizona," said Doug Lentz, chief executive officer of Casino Del Sol. "The loveliness of the Tuscan Village motif, exceptional structural design and astonishing desert environment of the Casino is notably lifting the level for gaming goals all across Arizona and the country." Udall Center and Native Nations Institute at University of Arizona performed a study for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe in January 2002. According to its results, the Tribe provides a financial impact of at least $90 million per year to the Southern Arizona financial system.
The population involved in the survey includes mainly salespersons, freelancers hired in the building of the expansion, groceries and beverage dispensers agreements, community endowments of more than $250,000 annually to Southern Arizona organizations and at least 1,400 jobs created to run the casino once the growth is full.
"It is very important that the jobs which are offered by the Del Sol Casino will be offered to the entire unemployed public" said Robert Valencia, chairman of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. "Our goal is to offer more jobs to the public with high salaries so the economical situation of the tribe will improve the everyday life of our tribe and all Southern Arizonans. New jobs which will help the Tribe achieve this goal." Designed by Leo A Daly, Casino Del Sol will platform a extraordinary Tuscan Village shape, complete with streetscapes, a gaming piazza and traditional Mediterranean-style interior decoration with touches of deep purple, bronze and sandstone. A key feature of Casino Del Sol is the wonderful "Mediterranean Sky," a 35,000-square foot fresco dangled from the ceiling. The Mediterranean sky peaks 46 feet above the gaming floor and is able to simulate a vibrant sunrise or sunset which can make your heart go wild... said Kristina Ennis Robinson, principal and director of Native American Gaming for Leo A Daly.

Since the signing of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's gaming compact by Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano in January, Casino Del Sol is allowed to enlarge gaming functions in order to include an additional 700 gaming devices and Vegas-style blackjack. The new machines will all be housed at Casino Del Sol along with 50 blackjack tables. The casino will provide the crowd with a bingo hall for its many bingo fans. Seating additional 550 players, the hall will offer seven games on a daily basis beginning in the morning, and bingo guests will have the luxury of a private restroom facility in the bingo area plus a deli-style caf� exclusively for players' use. "Now the largest and most unique entertainment aim in the state, Casino Del Sol has something for everybody," added Lentz. "Exciting slots, Vegas-style blackjack and poker and an all-inclusive bingo hall making it the premiere destination for gaming enthusiasts." Chef Jesus Lorenzo, direction of Executive ,describes: different restauraunts from all across the world will provide the visitors an experience full of flavors and scents to allow a one of a kind experience.Lorenzo has specialized in the American Culinary Federation and was granted with the title of a Master Chef. His expertise and culinary brilliance has provided him with the chance to cook for three United States presidents as well as the queen of England.
He is known as a magician in his line of work.... The new restaurants vary from fast, take-out food to world-class full-service dining.
They contain Bellissimo Ristorante, a complete Tuscan-style restaurant; The Tequila Factory, a Mexican village-style restaurant which has its own private dining room! Slice, an Italian pizzeria presents players with the freshest pizza features and Abuelitas Taqueria, a taco shop eatery exposing diners with a wide diversity of genuine Mexican price including burritos, tacos and enchiladas.
"I invested much effort into creating menu items using the most authentic flavors from Mexico and Italy to entice casino guests with the very best each region has to offer," said Lorenzo.
"Each eatery will use the freshest ingredients prepared by a professional crew which create the unique dishes and are expertise in the service area.
The casino also will include a full-service bar area called Zebo'z. positioned in the main gaming floor and modeled after a garden gazebo, casino guests will be offered a wide selection of different drinks and a large variety of premium libations.
